BEST IN CATEGORY 2024 - TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Eligibility Criteria

To participate in the Deliveroo Restaurant Awards - Best in Category, restaurants must meet the following criteria (the “Eligibility Criteria”):

Restaurants must be available to order from on the Deliveroo platform during its normal opening hours in the UAE at and throughout the time of voting and at the time that the awards are announced;
Restaurants must meet the following criteria (the “Category Criteria”) in respect of the following categories (each a “Category”) for which have been nominated:
Best Burger - must be a restaurant or takeaway which specialises or primarily focuses on burger in their menu;
Best Asian Restaurant - must be a restaurant or takeaway offering predominantly Asian cuisine (Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese, etc.)
Best Pizza - must be a restaurant or takeaway which specialises or primarily focuses on pizza in their menu.
Best Middle Eastern Restaurant - must be a restaurant or takeaway offering predominantly Middle Eastern cuisine
Best Fried Chicken- must be a restaurant or takeaway with fried chicken on the menu
Best HomeGrown Dubai - These are home grown loved brands born and raised in Dubai.
Best HomeGrown Abu Dhabi - These are home grown loved brands born and raised in Abu Dhabi.
Best Dessert Only Restaurant - must be a restaurant or takeaway with a primary focus on dessert
Best Italian Restaurant- Must be a restaurant or takeaway offering predominantly Italian cuisine.
Best Plant Based - must be a restaurant or takeaway with Plant-Based food on its menu
Best Newcomer (New on Deliveroo)- open to all restaurants in the UAE who joined the Deliveroo platform from January 2024.
Best Coffee - must be a restaurant or coffee shop that specialises in coffee
Best Mexican - Must be a restaurant or takeaway offering predominantly Mexican cuisine.
Best ice cream - Must be a restaurant or takeaway offering predominantly Ice Cream.
Best sandwich shop - Must be a restaurant or takeaway offering predominantly Sandwiches.
Best salad restaurant - Must be a restaurant or takeaway offering predominantly Salads.
Best breakfast restaurant - must be a restaurant or takeaway which specialises or primarily focuses on breakfast in their Menu.
Best bakery - must be a restaurant or takeaway which specialises or primarily focuses on bakery items.
Best Fine Dining - must be a restaurant with a ‘Fine Dining’ tag on the Deliveroo Platform
Best Healthy Restaurant - must be a restaurant with a ‘Healthy’ tag on the Deliveroo platform
Best Family Restaurant - must be a restaurant with a family focus or children’s menu
Best Value Eats - must be a restaurant where you eat amazing food at the best value for money (Average order value < 60 AED)
Best Japanese Restaurant - must be a restaurant or takeaway with a primary focus on Japanese food
Best Poke - must be a restaurant or takeaway which specialises or primarily focuses on Poke on its menu
Best Indian Restaurant - must be a restaurant or takeaway offering predominantly Indian cuisine.
The Restaurant of the Year Category is subject to separate terms and conditions.
Most loved by Riders is subject to separate terms and conditions.
Restaurant must not be in any dispute with, or subject to investigation by, Deliveroo or any regulatory authority, or otherwise, in Deliveroo’s reasonable opinion, be likely to bring Deliveroo or the Deliveroo Restaurant Awards into disrepute.
Restaurants must have a branch located in the UAE
Restaurants otherwise agree to and comply with, the terms of herein.

Each restaurant meeting the Eligibility Criteria will be an “Eligible Restaurant”. Deliveroo, acting in its sole discretion, will determine whether Eligibility Criteria have been met.

Best in Category: First Round of Voting (Shortlist)

Members of the public will vote between 14 Aug- 10 September 2024 (the “First Voting Period”) for their favourite Eligible Restaurants in each category to determine a shortlist of three Eligible Restaurants.
Only one vote per member of the public per Category in the First Voting Period will be counted. Where there is more than one vote in respect of a given Category from the same member of the public, only the first vote will be counted.
The three Eligible Restaurants per Category achieving the most votes in the First Voting Period, will be entered into the Second Round of Voting in respect of such Category (“Shortlisted”).
Notwithstanding the above, an Eligible Restaurant may only be Shortlisted in respect of one Category. An Eligible Restaurant shall accordingly only be Shortlisted in respect of the Category for which it receives the most votes and its votes in respect of any other Category shall be excluded for the purposes of determining the Eligible Restaurants to be Shortlisted in that Category and for the purposes of the Second Round of Voting. If an Eligible Restaurant receives an equal amount of votes for multiple categories and could be Shortlisted for such multiple Categories, Deliveroo shall determine which Category the Eligible Restaurant is Shortlisted for.
In the event of a tie between multiple Eligible Restaurants, Deliveroo may elect to either a) Shortlist multiple Eligible Restaurants such that more than three Eligible Restaurants are entered into the Second Round of Voting, b) extend the First Voting Period, or c) seek determination from an independent adjudicator.

Best in Category: Second Round of voting

Members of the public will vote between 18 Sep - 16 Oct (the “Second Voting Period”) for their favourite Eligible Restaurants in each category to determine the winner in respect of such Category.
Only one vote per member of the public per Category in the Second Voting Period will be counted.
The Shortlisted Eligible Restaurant achieving the most votes in aggregate across both the First Voting Period and the Second Voting Period in each Category will be the winner of the Best Restaurant Award for such Category. In the event of a tie between multiple Eligible Restaurants, Deliveroo may elect to either award the Best Restaurant Award for such category to multiple Eligible Restaurants, extend the Second Voting Period, or seek determination from an independent adjudicator.
The winner of the Best Restaurant Award for each Category will be announced at the Deliveroo Restaurant of the Year Awards

DELIVEROO RESTAURANT AWARDS 2024 - RESTAURANT OF THE YEAR - TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Eligibility Criteria

To participate in the Deliveroo Restaurant Awards 2024 - Restaurant of the Year, restaurants must meet the following criteria (the “Eligibility Criteria”):

Restaurants must be available on the Deliveroo platform at the time of voting and at the time that the awards are announced;
Restaurant must not be in any dispute with, or subject to investigation by, Deliveroo or any regulatory authority, or otherwise, in Deliveroo’s reasonable opinion, be likely to bring Deliveroo or the Deliveroo Restaurant Awards into disrepute.
Restaurants must have a branch located in the UAE
Restaurants otherwise agree to and comply with, the terms of herein.
Each restaurant meeting the Eligibility Criteria will be an “Eligible Restaurant”. Deliveroo, acting in its sole discretion, will determine whether Eligibility Criteria have been met.

Restaurant of the Year: Public Vote

Members of the public will vote (the “Public Vote”) for their favourite Eligible Restaurants as the Restaurant of the Year to determine a shortlist of three Eligible Restaurants.
Only one vote per member of the public in the Public Vote will be counted. Where there is more than one vote from the same member of the public, only the first vote will be counted.
The three Eligible Restaurants achieving the most votes in the Public Vote will be shortlisted for the final (“Shortlisted”). In the event of a tie between multiple Eligible Restaurants, Deliveroo may elect to either a) Shortlist multiple Eligible Restaurants such that more than three Eligible Restaurants are entered into the Judging phase b) extend the Public Vote, or c) seek determination from an independent adjudicator.
The judging panel will review the three Shortlisted Eligible Restaurants (who fit this criteria) with the most votes and select the winner

Restaurant of the Year: Judging

The 3 Shortlisted Eligible Restaurants will be submitted to Deliveroo who will, determine the Restaurant of the Year on the basis of the following criteria:
Going the extra mile for customers
Providing value for money
Brand personality
Quality of food
Packaging and presentation
Customer reviews
The panel of judges (“Judging Panel”)will consist of F&B experts in the industry.
The Eligible Restaurant selected by the Judging Panel as best meeting the criteria above in aggregate will be the Deliveroo Restaurant Awards 2024 Restaurant of the Year. The Judging Panel’s decision is final.

The winner of the Deliveroo Restaurant Awards 2024 Restaurant of the Year Award will be announced at the Deliveroo Restaurant of the Year Awards 2024 which shall take place no later than November 2024.

DELIVEROO RESTAURANT AWARDS 2024 - MOST LOVED BY RIDERS AWARD - TERMS AND CONDITIONS

To participate in the Deliveroo Restaurant Awards 2024 - Most Loved by Riders, restaurants must meet the following criteria (the “Eligibility Criteria”):

Restaurants must be available on the Deliveroo platform at the time of voting and at the time that the awards are announced;
Restaurant must not be in any dispute with, or subject to investigation by, Deliveroo or any regulatory authority, or otherwise, in Deliveroo’s reasonable opinion, be likely to bring Deliveroo or the Deliveroo Restaurant Awards into disrepute.
Restaurants must have a branch located in the UAE
Restaurants otherwise agree to and comply with, the terms of herein.
Each restaurant meeting the Eligibility Criteria will be an “Eligible Restaurant”. Deliveroo, acting in its sole discretion, will determine whether Eligibility Criteria have been met.

Most Loved by Riders: Riders Vote

Deliveroo agency riders will vote (the “Riders Vote”) for their favourite Eligible Restaurants as the Most Loved by Riders to determine a shortlist of three Eligible Restaurants.
Only one vote per rider in the rider Vote will be counted. Where there is more than one vote from the same rider, only the first vote will be counted.
The three Eligible Restaurants achieving the most votes in the Riders Vote will be shortlisted for the final (“Shortlisted”). In the event of a tie between multiple Eligible Restaurants, Deliveroo may elect to either a) Shortlist multiple Eligible Restaurants such that more than three Eligible Restaurants are entered into the Judging phase b) extend the Riders Vote, or c) seek determination from an independent adjudicator.
Riders will review the three Shortlisted Eligible Restaurants and vote in the second round to select a winner of the “Most Loved by Riders’ Restaurant.

General

All Eligible Restaurants agree that they will take part in reasonable publicity connected with the Deliveroo Restaurant Awards 2024 if requested and that Deliveroo is entitled (but not obliged) to use the winner’s name and image in connection with such publicity.
Any attempt to deliberately damage or undermine the content or legitimate operation of the Deliveroo Restaurant Awards is prohibited and may be a violation of criminal and/or civil laws and in these circumstances Deliveroo reserves all its rights and remedies.
Without limiting the options available to Deliveroo, Deliveroo reserves the right at any time to disqualify restaurants and/or votes (including the winner) that Deliveroo regards in its sole discretion as being in breach of these rules, any applicable laws, any terms and conditions referred to in these rules or the spirit of the Deliveroo Restaurant Awards or as otherwise deemed necessary or appropriate by Deliveroo.
Deliveroo reserves the right to vary, suspend or cancel the Deliveroo Restaurant Awards 2024 and/or these rules if it considers it necessary or appropriate to do so, including if there is any actual or anticipated breach of applicable law or if variation, suspension or cancellation is necessary due to an event outside Deliveroo’s reasonable control. In the event of cancellation, the Awards may be awarded to Eligible Restaurants achieving the most votes in a category prior to the completion of the First Voting Period or Second Voting Period, or not awarded.
Deliveroo will not be liable for: (i) any loss that is not caused by Deliveroo (or any person acting on Deliveroo’s behalf); (ii) any loss caused by any event or circumstance beyond Deliveroo’s reasonable control; (iii) any loss of profits or revenue, loss of anticipated savings or loss of goodwill; or (iv) any unavailability of the Deliveroo website or app. However, nothing in these rules limits or excludes any person’s liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or for any matter for which it would be illegal to limit or exclude liability.
If any part of these rules is or becomes invalid, illegal or unenforceable, the validity, legality and enforceability of the rest of these rules will not be affected. Deliveroo’s failure to enforce any term of these rules will not constitute a waiver of that provision.
In the event of a dispute about the Deliveroo Restaurant Awards or these rules, Deliveroo’s decisions are final.
The Deliveroo Restaurant Awards and these rules are governed by the laws of the Dubai International Financial Centre, and any disputes arising in connection with them shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Dubai International Financial Centre.

DELIVEROO RESTAURANT AWARDS 2024 CONSUMER COMPETITION - PROMOTION RULES

These are the terms and conditions (“Rules”) that apply to the Deliveroo Restaurant Awards 2024 Consumer Promotion (“Promotion”). By entering the Promotion, each entrant agrees to these Rules and confirms they have read and understood the Deliveroo Privacy Notice at https://deliveroo.co.uae/privacy.

Promoter: Deliveroo DMCC (“Deliveroo”).
Entry period: The Promotion opens for entry on 14 August 2024 (“Entry Period”).
Eligibility:
To participate in the Promotion, entrants must be a legal resident of the UAE and at least 18 years old at the time of entry.
Internet access is required to enter the Promotion.
Deliveroo reserves the right at any time to require proof of eligibility in such form as Deliveroo reasonably considers necessary.
Not eligible: The following persons are not eligible to enter the Promotion: (i) any employee or other individual engaged by Deliveroo or any of its associated companies; (ii) members of the immediate family and/or household (whether related or not) of any of those individuals; and (iii) anyone else professionally involved with the operation or administration of the Promotion.
How to enter: To enter the Promotion, entrants must place a valid vote for an eligible restaurant (as defined in the Restaurant Awards 2024 competition terms and conditions) in respect of the Deliveroo Restaurant Awards 2024 during the Entry Period. Only one entry per entrant will be included in the random draw. Votes disqualified in accordance with the Deliveroo Restaurant Awards terms and conditions will not be considered valid entries.
Prizes: There is one (1) prize to be won in this Promotion per voting round (“Prize”), which will be Deliveroo credit up to 1,000 AED
Prize conditions: The following conditions apply to the Prize:
The Prize is non-transferable, non-refundable, non-exchangeable and no cash alternative is available. However, if Deliveroo considers it appropriate, or if it becomes necessary for reasons beyond Deliveroo’s control, a Prize may be varied or swapped for a suitable alternative in Deliveroo’s discretion.
Prize is subject to Deliveroo’s Voucher Terms and Conditions. The winner should ensure they are aware of any applicable expiry dates.
Winner selection: All eligible entries will be entered into a random draw. The winner will be randomly selected from all eligible entries
Winner notification: The winners will be informed through the contact information provided at the time of voting within 14 days of the Winner selection. Deliveroo will make reasonable efforts to contact the winner, but it is the winner’s responsibility to monitor their voicemail and email account, including any junk mail folder, for receipt of the notification.
Claiming the Prize: The winner must accept the Prize by confirming their eligibility and acceptance within five (5) working days of the date of the initial winner’s notification. Failure to accept the Prize by the deadline may result in the Prize being forfeited and the selection of an alternative winner. Alternative winners will be selected and notified as set out above and must claim the Prize within five (5) working days.
Prize delivery: The Prize will be credited to the winner’s Deliveroo account within five (5) working days of the date of the winner’s notification.
Publicity: By entering this Promotion, each entrant agrees that in the event of a win, the entrant will take part in reasonable publicity connected with the Promotion if requested and that Deliveroo is entitled (but not obliged) to use the winner’s name and image in connection with such publicity. Each entrant agrees that Deliveroo may share, publish or promote any image, video, text or other content submitted or uploaded to any website in connection with this Promotion on its corporate website, blogs or its Facebook, Instagram or Twitter account.
Liability: Deliveroo will not be liable for: (i) any loss that is not caused by Deliveroo (or any person acting on Deliveroo’s behalf); (ii) any loss caused by any event or circumstance beyond Deliveroo’s reasonable control; (iii) any loss of profits or revenue, loss of anticipated savings or loss of goodwill; or (iv) any unavailability of the Deliveroo website or app. However, nothing in these Rules limits or excludes any person’s liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or for any matter for which it would be illegal to limit or exclude liability.In particular, consumers have legal rights in relation to products that are faulty or not as described and services which are not performed with reasonable care and skill and these legal rights are in addition to and are not affected in any way by anything contained in these Rules.
No Endorsement: This Promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Facebook, Instagram and Twitter (“Social Networks”) or any other third party save as expressly stated otherwise. Access to Social Networks is at all times subject to the relevant Social Network’s rules, terms and policies. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Social Networks and any other social networking platform on which the Promotion is communicated shall have no liability to any person in connection with or arising out of the Promotion however caused, including for any costs, expenses, damages and other liabilities.
Interference with the Promotion: Any attempt to deliberately damage or undermine the content or legitimate operation of this Promotion is prohibited and may be a violation of criminal and/or civil laws and in these circumstances Deliveroo reserves all its rights and remedies.
Cancellation and variation: Deliveroo reserves the right to vary, suspend or cancel the Promotion and/or these Rules if it considers it necessary or appropriate to do so, including if there is any actual or anticipated breach of applicable law or if variation, suspension or cancellation is necessary due to an event outside Deliveroo’s reasonable control. In the event of cancellation, the Prize may be awarded to a winner drawn from entries received prior to cancellation.
Disqualification: Without limiting the options available to Deliveroo, Deliveroo reserves the right at any time to disqualify entries or entrants (including the winner) that Deliveroo regards as being in breach of these Rules, any applicable laws, any terms and conditions referred to in these Rules or the spirit of the Promotion.
Disclosure of winner’s details: By entering this Promotion, each entrant acknowledges that in the event of a win their surname and county of residence may be disclosed to persons enquiring, where permitted by law. Any entrant may object to their information being made available in this way, or may request that the amount of information made available be reduced, by contacting Deliveroo using the contact details at the end of these Rules. In these circumstances, the entrant acknowledges that Deliveroo may nevertheless disclose the relevant information, and the entrant’s entry, to a relevant authority in the UAE. This may happen where Deliveroo is required to demonstrate that it has awarded the prizes advertised. To request disclosure of winners’ details, enquiries must submit a request to [email protected] within three months of the end of the Promotion. Details will only be disclosed (if permitted by law) after the Prizes have been validly claimed.
Accessing these Rules: Any website on which these Rules are posted is only intended to be accessed from the UAE, and where permitted by law. Deliveroo makes no representation that materials relating to this Promotion are appropriate or available for use at other locations. Access to them from territories where their contents are illegal is strictly prohibited.
Severance and waiver: If any part of these Rules is or becomes invalid, illegal or unenforceable, the validity, legality and enforceability of the rest of these Rules will not be affected. Deliveroo’s failure to enforce any term of these Rules will not constitute a waiver of that provision.
Disputes: Subject to Rule 22, if there is a dispute about the Promotion or these Rules, Deliveroo’s decisions are final. If there is a dispute between these Rules and any other document referred to in these Rules, these Rules take precedence to the extent necessary to resolve the conflict.
Law and jurisdiction: The Promotion and these Rules are governed by the laws of the Dubai International Financial Centre, and any disputes arising in connection with them shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Dubai International Financial Centre.
Personal data: Entrants acknowledge that any personal data of entrants processed in connection with this Promotion will be processed in accordance with the Deliveroo Privacy Notice at https://deliveroo.ae/privacy. In particular:
Deliveroo is the controller in respect of entrants’ personal data obtained in connection with the Promotion.
Deliveroo will process, and permit the processing of, entrants’ personal data for the purposes described in these Rules and Deliveroo’s Privacy Notice, which purposes include the administration of the Promotion.
It is necessary for Deliveroo to use entrants’ personal data to perform its obligations to entrants in relation to the administration of the Promotion or it is in Deliveroo’s legitimate interest to use entrants’ personal data in the ways described in these Rules in order to ensure the proper administration of the Promotion.
Deliveroo may share entrants’ personal data with certain Deliveroo vendors in order to assist with the administration of the Promotion.
Deliveroo will retain entrants’ personal data for as long as it is required for the purposes described in these Rules and Deliveroo’s Privacy Notice.
